“My first year of college was, and will still be, an experience. There has been good days and unfortunately some pretty bad days but overall I feel as though this first year has taught me a lot. I’ve learned a lot about myself and about how life can go. At first it was pretty terrifying, moving to a dorm and finally feeling that sense of independence and, for me, not knowing what to do exactly with the new found independence. As time went on I became more comfortable with that feeling and with the new changes. Overall it’s been a pretty good experience. I made a very good friend, and discovered more about both my strengths and my flaws. Hopefully next semester will be as good and if not better than this semester. Of course, I still have a lot of learning to do, about both myself and about my profession but I’m excited for what the future has to hold.

I cannot express on how grateful I am for those around me for their continuous support with pursuing a higher education at Rowan University, and for my scholarship from the Murphy family. I am excited for what the future holds in both my intended major, Mathematics with a concentration in Secondary Education, and with my personal life. Thank you for those who care about me!!”
