The Afterschool Program is designed to improve school engagement, including school-day attendance and likelihood of staying connected to schools. It also increases academic performance, including test scores and on-time graduation for each grade level. LUCY’s Afterschool Program is available to all low-income Camden County youth ages 7-14, and aims to support positive youth development, reduce truancy, and decrease the possibility of negative behavior. This includes participation in at-risk behaviors such as criminal activity, gang involvement, drug and alcohol use, and/or sexual activity at a young age.
